Agapi Altini is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia. She worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Industrial Design in the TEI of Western Macedonia from 2008-2019, and as a Lecturer and non-tenure track Lecturer in the Centre for Foreign Languages & Physical Education, in the TEI of W. Macedonia from 1984-2008. She graduated the Department of English Language and Literature, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and she is an MA holder in Linguistics (TESOL), University of Surrey, UK.

Her teaching experience to date includes teaching English for Academic and Specific Purposes (ESP / EAP), mainly in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and also in the Departments of Product & Systems Design, and Chemical Engineering. She also taught English for Academic and Specific Purposes (EAP/ESP) at the TEI of W. Macedonia (Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, Pollution Control Technologies, Accounting and Finance and Business Administration), as well as in the Department of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (Extended Education Programmes) and Greek to Erasmus students. In addition, she worked in English Language Schools, teaching General English, and was an English Language Oral Examiner for the National Foreign Language Exam System (KPG).

In parallel with her teaching experience and since 2020, she has been working on the translation of the main website and individual departments of the University of Western Macedonia. In addition, she was a Scientific Associate in the Careers Office, TEI of W. Macedonia (2003-2007), organising conferences and meetings, developing, and editing prospectuses, Career & Academic Guides and electronic material (’e-news’, monthly web newsletter).

Her professional interests include Linguistics, Teaching Methodology of English of academic and scientific texts (EAP/ESP), discourse analysis and Systemic Functional Linguistics, translation of academic texts, new technologies in education, as well as multilingualism cultural diversity. She has attended seminars on Linguistics, teaching English to non-native speakers, teaching English for Academic and Specific Purposes to non-native speakers, Computer Assisted Language learning (CALL), teaching Greek language as a second language, methodology of teaching English, ESP material design and development, and Content-Led Integrated Language Learning (CLILL). She has designed and developed teaching material for Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering (division of Pollution Control Technologies) and Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM). She has also designed and developed material for Greek language teaching to foreign students (Erasmus).

Η Αγάπη Αλτίνη είναι Επίκουρη καθηγήτρια στο τμήμα Μηχανολόγων Μηχανικών του Παν/μιου Δυτ. Μακεδονίας. Υπήρξε επίσης, από  το 2008-2019, Επίκουρη καθηγήτρια στο τμήμα Μηχανολόγων Μηχανικών & Βιομηχανικού Σχεδιασμού (Τ.Ε.) του ΤΕΙ Δυτικής Μακεδονίας, και από το 1984-2008, Καθηγήτρια Εφαρμογών και ωρομίσθια Καθηγήτρια Εφαρμογών στο Γενικό Τμήμα της Σχολής Διοίκησης & Οικονομίας και στο Κέντρο Ξ. Γλωσσών & Φυσικής Αγωγής του ΤΕΙ Δυτ. Μακεδονίας.   Είναι απόφοιτος του τμήματος Αγγλικής Γλώσσας και Φιλολογίας ΑΠΘ, με Mεταπτυχιακό Δίπλωμα Ειδίκευσης στη Γλωσσολογία (ΜΑ in Linguistics (TESOL), University οf Surrey, UK).

 Η διδακτική της εμπειρία μέχρι σήμερα περιλαμβάνει τη διδασκαλία Τεχνικής Ορολογίας στην Αγγλική (ESP/EAP), κυρίως στο τμήμα Μηχανολόγων Μηχανικών, και επίσης στα τμήματα Σχεδίασης Προϊόντων & Συστημάτων, και Χημικών Μηχ/κων.

 Έχει επίσης παλαιότερα διδάξει Αγγλική Τεχνική Ορολογία στα τμήματα Βιομηχανικού Σχεδιασμού, Τεχνολογιών Αντιρρύπανσης, Λογιστικής & Χρηματοοικονομικής και Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων και στο τμήμα Βιομηχανικής Πληροφορικής (ΠΣΕ), καθώς και Ελληνικά σε φοιτητές Erasmus. Επιπλέον, έχει εργαστεί σε Φροντιστήρια Ξένων Γλωσσών διδάσκοντας Γενικά Αγγλικά σε όλα τα επίπεδα, και υπήρξε αξιολογήτρια προφορικού λόγου για το Κρατικό Πιστοποιητικό Γλωσσομάθειας (ΚΠΓ).

 Παράλληλα με τη διδακτική της εμπειρία, από το 2020 ασχολείται με τη μετάφραση της κεντρικής ιστοσελίδας του Παν/μίου Δυτ. Μακεδονίας καθώς και των επιμέρους τμημάτων, ενώ, επίσης, συνεργάστηκε, ως επιστημονικός συνεργάτης, με το τμήμα Διασύνδεσης του ΤΕΙ Δυτ. Μακεδονίας, με κύρια ευθύνη την επιμέλεια και μετάφραση του ενημερωτικού υλικού και της ιστοσελίδας του τμήματος, την επιμέλεια και  σύνταξη Επαγγελματικών & Ακαδημαϊκών Οδηγών για τα τμήματα Βιομ. Σχεδιασμού, Χρηματοοικονομικών Εφαρμογών και Γεωτεχνολογίας Περιβάλλοντος, την οργάνωση συνεδρίων και ημερίδων, καθώς και την επιμέλεια και παραγωγή μηνιαίας ηλεκτρονικής εφημερίδας (‘e-news’).

 Στα επαγγελματικά της ενδιαφέροντα περιλαμβάνεται η Γλωσσολογία, η Μεθοδολογία και Διδακτική  αγγλικών ακαδημαϊκών και επιστημονικών κειμένων, η ανάλυση λόγου και Συστηµική Λειτουργική Γλωσσολογία, η μετάφραση ακαδημαϊκών κειμένων, οι νέες τεχνολογίες στην εκπαίδευση, αλλά και η πολυγλωσσία και πολυπολιτισμικότητα, και ιδιαίτερα οι αλληλεπιδράσεις στη γλωσσική και πολιτισμική πολυμορφία. Έχει παρακολουθήσει σεμινάρια Γλωσσολογίας, διδασκαλίας της αγγλικής τεχνικής ορολογίας (ESP), διδασκαλίας της αγγλικής γλώσσας με τη χρήση υπολογιστών (CALL), διδασκαλίας της ελληνικής γλώσσας ως δεύτερης γλώσσας, μεθοδολογίας της διδασκαλίας της αγγλικής γλώσσας με Συνδυασμένη Εκμάθηση Επιστημονικού Αντικειμένου & Ξένης Γλώσσας (CLILL), σχεδιασμού και παραγωγής διδακτικού υλικού για τη διδασκαλία της αγγλικής τεχνικής ορολογίας, συμβουλευτικής και παιδαγωγικής.

 Έχει γράψει διδακτικές σημειώσεις αγγλικής τεχνικής ορολογίας για σπουδαστές ΤΕΙ (Mηχανολόγους Μηχανικούς, Μηχανικούς Βιομηχανικού Σχεδιασμού, Μηχανικούς Περιβάλλοντος, Ηλεκτρολόγους Μηχανικούς, Μηχανικούς Βιομηχανικής Πληροφορικής), καθώς και σημειώσεις διδασκαλίας της ελληνικής γλώσσας  σε ξένους φοιτητές (Erasmus).
